( Home )-( Misc.)-( Half-Life Apartment Building Level )
Strip illustration

This is a level for Half-Life based on the floorplan of my apartment building. I measured my own apartment and created a floorplan accurate to the inch, but I had to tweak it because the steatopygous player guy is 34" wide in the game. Then I just copy and pasted for the other apartments, making changes as necessary for each one. Only half the building is modeled.

This is a pretty lousy Half-Life map, I confess, but kinda fun and silly. I really would have prefered to furnish all the apartments and add lots of details, but there are already too many visible objects on the map as is, so it slows things down and jacks up the rendering. So pretend there's furniture.

You can clear this level without using any cheats or anything. There's no exit to the level, sorry. When you're done, retire back to the bedroom and enjoy some peace and quiet, which is more than I'm able to do in my real life apartment. Closet doors can be broken down, sometimes with prizes inside.

The real complex has fewer hand grenades and monsters, although that sorta depends on who the neighbors have invited over for the evening and whether their children are at daycare.
